Eco Friendly Baby Products Include Cloth Diapers and Homemade Baby Food

Numerous new parents are always looking for eco-friendly baby products and that includes baby food and cloth diapers.  The latest in cloth diapers come with a protective covering over the cloth so that moisture and messes are contained within the diaper and not spilling out onto the couch, car seat or grandma.  They also do not require large diaper pins because they have Velcro fasteners which make it safe for both the baby and the parents when changing diapers.

Countless new parents worry about cloth diapers and diaper rash and that is why many doctors and other parents who regularly use cloth diapers suggest using diaper inserts to help pull moisture and wetness away from a baby’s delicate skin. Some of these diaper inserts are disposable, they can be flushed down the toilet or thrown in a trash can; while others are reusable – simply throw them in the washing machine with the cloth diapers and when they have gone through the washer and dryer cycles, they are ready to be used over again.  Some of the cloth diapers have ‘pockets’ in them to place the diaper inserts into so that they don’t roll up or fall out as the baby is moving about.

Besides saving money, cloth diapers also save the earth and the environment by keeping disposable diapers out of landfills in which they simply sit for years and years because they do not decompose very quickly since they are made mostly of plastic materials.

The latest cloth diapers, in cool character prints and solid colors to match any outfit, with the Velcro closures and the plastic outer wrapping, may cost a little more in the beginning but they will pay for themselves after several uses. Disposable diapers cannot be reused and after a while, cost a fortune over the period of two to three years, the time in which it takes before a child is potty trained.

There are many department stores that sell cloth diapers or parents can purchase cloth diapers over the Internet at deeply discounted rates.
